Intravitreal injections (IVT) have become a gold-standard treatment for many retinal diseases. This procedure involves administering medication directly into the vitreous cavity of the eye, near the retina, allowing for precise and localized action.

Main Indications for IVT

• Age-related macular degeneration (AMD): wet form

• Macular edema: diabetic or due to retinal vein occlusion

• Diabetic retinopathy: proliferative or with macular involvement

• Chronic intraocular inflammation (uveitis)

IVT allows the delivery of anti-VEGF agents (Avastin®, Eylea®, Lucentis®) or corticosteroids with a strong local effect.
